An HTML content widget displays custom content such as text, images, video, and embedded applications on a page. Workplace administrators or site administrators can customize the widget via the rich text editor to create and display the content using HTML.

Use the widget
As the contents of an HTML content widget can vary greatly, if you encounter issues using the contents, contact a workplace administrator for assistance.
Configure the widget
When placing an HTML content widget on a page, as a workplace administrator or site administrator, you can configure the widget's:
- Title
- Display area width
- HTML content via a rich text editor or an HTML code editor
For instructions on configuring the widget, see Configure a HTML content widget.
The widget supports the following:
- HTML
- Inline CSS
- iFrames
However, the following are not supported:
- HTML <script> tag
- Javascript
Keep in mind that:
- Embedded content is not showing: When embedding content from a third-party site, ensure the URL uses SSL. The digital workplace will not display content from sites that do not use SSL. URLs from sites that use SSL will begin with HTTPS instead of HTTP.
- Embedded files: Files that can be previewed can be embedded directly into the widget. Users must be signed in to the digital workplace and have appropriate access permissions to view the embedded file. See Embed a file into content.
- Page load times: HTML content widgets can run complex code, display high-quality images, and pull information from different sources inside and outside your digital workplace. All these functions can increase a page's load time, especially if it is waiting on third-party services for data.
