Transfer file or folder ownership in the app

You can transfer primary ownership of a file or folder in Igloo Flex's File Manager to another user. This allows the new owner to be responsible for the content and its maintenance during its lifecycle.

Considerations

  • File or folder ownership:
  • Access changes: Access permissions changes update for affected users the next time they log in to the Igloo Flex Mobile app. Removing access permissions does not remove the file or folder from the digital workplace.

Who can do this?

  • Workplace administrators
  • Users with file manager roles of owner or full for the current file or folder

Transfer primary ownership of a file or folder

  1. In the app's Top Bar, tap Profile Menu, and then Manage files
  2. Navigate the folder structure to find the location where the file or folder is stored.
  3. Next to the file or folder, tap Menu, followed by Access
  4. (Optional) Files and folders have access inheritance turned on when uploaded, unless specifically turned off. To customize access:
    1. In the Access rules section, tap Keep the same as the parent folder to deselect it.
    2. When prompted, tap Yes
  5. Tap Transfer next to the first user above the divider.
  6. Tap in the box.
  7. Search the search box to search for a user or scroll through the list. Tap the checkbox next to the desired user.
  8. Tap Done.
  9. Tap TRANSFER.
  10. When prompted, tap Transfer

Note:

Access permission changes will be updated for affected users the next time they log in to the Igloo Flex Mobile app.
