The Identity Provider ID and Username profile fields are used with Single Sign On (SSO) authentication to match a digital workplace user to credentials provided by your SSO identity provider (IdP), allowing users to log in with your organization's credentials. Use this process to update the Identity Provider ID or Username when entered incorrectly, and the user cannot log in due to the error.
Who can do this?
- Workplace administrators
Edit a user's Identity Provider ID or Username individually
- On the Top Bar, select
Admin Settings.
- Under Administration in the left side panel, select
Users.
- Use the search bar to find the user by first or last name.
- Next to the user, select
Menu and then Edit Login Settings.
- Update the contents to match the value passed from your IdP. If no value is supplied in the Identity Provider ID field, Username is the default field for authentication. These values must be unique for each user.
- Select Update.
Edit multiple users' Identity Provider IDs and Usernames via Bulk User Upload
If multiple users in the digital workplace need their Identity Provider ID or Username field updated, use the Bulk User Upload feature to update the field for all of them at once. See the Bulk User Upload article to get started.
