Add or edit a folder in the app

You can add or edit an existing folder in the Igloo Flex Mobile app to help organize your organization's files stored in Igloo Flex's File Manager.

Considerations

  • Access permissions: A folder may have defined users and groups with access permissions to the folder or inherit the defined access permissions from the folder containing it. See Add or edit access permissions to a file or folder in the app.
  • File and folder visibility: Files and folders will only be available to view or update if the user has appropriate access permissions for the file or folder.

Who can do this?

  • Workplace administrators
  • Users with file manager roles of owner for the current file or folder

Add a folder

  1. In the app's Top Bar, tap Profile Menu, and then Manage files
  2. Navigate the folder structure to find the location where the folder can be stored.
  3. In the app's Top Bar, tap Add, followed by Folder.
  4. Enter the folder's details:
    • Name: Enter a name for the folder. A folder's name may only contain letters, numbers, spaces, underscores, or hyphens and may contain a maximum of 50 characters.
    • Inheritance from parent folder: Toggle to off if you do not want the folder's access permissions to be inherited from the folder containing it. This option will not be available when creating a folder in the Root folder.
  5. Tap Add
  6. (Optional) To change the folder's access permissions, see Add or edit access permissions to a file or folder in the app.
