Activate or deactivate a user

In the digital workplace, a user can be activated or deactivated. In the deactivated state, the user's sessions are terminated, and they cannot log in to the digital workplace. They are not surfaced in widgets or search results but remain in the digital workplace in case they need to be reactivated later. For example, a user might be deactivated during a leave and reactivated when they return. While typically handled by processes like SCIM, you can manually activate or deactivate a user in the Users page.

Considerations

  • Account activation: This process does not interact with account activation for Igloo authentication user accounts.

  • Workplace administrators

Activate or deactivate a user

  1. On the Top Bar, select Admin Settings.
  2. Under Administration in the left side panel, select Users.
  3. Use the search bar to find the user by first or last name.
  4. Beside the user, select Menu and then Edit Login Settings.
  5. Under Status, toggle Active to on or off.
  6. Select Update
