Notification

A notification is an email, in-app, or mobile push notification that alerts you about changes to the feeds you follow, actions taken in the digital workplace, broadcasts, and @mentions tagging you. You can select these messages to go to the associated content.

Details

Notifications may contain the following information:

  • Digital workplace logo (email)
  • Digital workplace name (email)
  • Who performed the action
  • What action was taken
  • The title of the content
  • The content's feed
  • How long ago the action occurred (in-app and push) or the date and time (email)
  • The summary of the content (email)
  • The body of the content (email)
  • A link to the content (email)

Content creators can prevent notifications from being sent during content creation or editing by deselecting Send notifications to followers before publications. Additionally, articles' and wikis' email notifications can be configured to display the featured image, summary, and body content in the email.

You can access your in-platform notifications by selecting Notifications on the Top Bar to view the last 30 days' notifications and access the Notification Center and personal Notification Settings. The Notifications icon will display the number of unread notifications, and an unread status indicator will appear beside unread messages. You can select a notification to view the content or select Mark all as read to clear the unread status.

Configure notifications

Your notifications can be configured at the digital workplace or personal level to be sent instantly, daily, weekly, or monthly. Direct notifications, such as broadcasts and @mentions, can only be configured to be sent instantly. See Configure personal notification settings or Configure workplace notification settings. Keep in mind that:

  • Notification digests: When notifications are configured to be sent daily, weekly, or monthly, they are held and sent as a single digest containing all of the notifications set that update frequency via email. They cannot be sent via in-app or mobile push notifications. Digest delivery times and days of week/month can be configured on the Notification Settings page.
  • Notification channels: Instant notifications can be configured at the digital workplace or personal level to be delivered via email, in-app, or mobile push notifications. Notification digests for daily, weekly, or monthly notification frequencies can only be delivered via email.
