You can use the Bulk User Upload to bulk add new users to the digital workplace and update profile information and groups for existing and new users.

Add or update users with Bulk User Upload
If you have not already created and updated a bulk upload CSV file, follow the steps in Create a CSV file for Bulk User Upload before proceeding with these steps.
Once you have a CSV file, you are ready to upload:
- On the Top Bar, select
Admin Settings.
- Under Administration in the left side panel, select
Users.
- In the top right of the page, select
Menu, and then Bulk user upload.
- In the Upload area, drag and drop your CSV file or select the area to browse your device for the CSV file.
- If the file uploads successfully, select Next Step. Otherwise, check that the file type is .csv and try again.
- On the Uploader page, users are sorted as valid and invalid users to highlight users for data correction.
- (Optional) Invalid users: If there are invalid users, select the invalid users tab. Make corrections directly in the uploader, or select Download invalid users to get a CSV file of these users for review and re-upload later.
- To edit a field's value, double-click on the field. Hovering over an invalid field indicates why the field was flagged. See the Profile field article for field requirements.
- (Optional) You can filter, sort, or pin columns in the uploader by hovering over the column header and selecting
Menu, followed by the desired action.
- If there is at least 1 valid user, select Next Step.
- (Optional) You can configure activation invitation settings. You can
- Send invitation: Deselect to prevent invitations from being sent at this time.
- Use cell number for invitation when both contact methods are provided: By default, if an email is provided, the invitation will be sent by email. Select this option to instead send an SMS text message to users in the United States and Canada.
- Select Upload Users. When prompted, select Upload.
Post upload
Once the Bulk User Upload job has been uploaded, it will process, and the completion status can be verified on the Recent History tab of the Users page. See View Bulk User Upload history for more details.
Uploading users does not activate the users' accounts. The digital workplace authentication method determines if a user will be contacted to activate their account:
- Igloo authentication: Users will receive an email or SMS text message to start the account activation process. If you have chosen not to send invitations automatically, you can send an invitation manually for an individual user or any unactivated users at a later time. See Send a user activation invitation.
- SAML SSO: Users will not receive an email to start the account activation process because they are automatically activated when uploaded.
