A comment is a short, user-created piece of content written in response to other content. Comments facilitate communication between users in a digital workplace.

Use comments
You can add comments to the following content types:
Your comments can be entered using the rich text editor's compact toolbar to format the content or insert links, GIFS, images, or emoticons in your comment. Additionally, you can @mention another user to tag and notify them of the comment. Your comments are limited to 3000 characters.
When viewing comments, consider that:
- Display order: Comments are displayed from newest to oldest to keep the most current comment close to the content.

Translation: If a comment was not created in your preferred language version, you can select the
Google Translate button below the comment to machine translate the comment.
- Threaded conversations: You can reply to other users' comments to create a thread under the original comment. Comments can only be threaded up to 1 level below the original comment.

Manage comments
Comments are an essential tool for social engagement in the digital workplace. As a workplace administrator, site administrator, or creator during content creation, you can turn commenting on or off for content to encourage or deter social engagement. For instructions, see Turn comments on or off.
Social engagement can be monitored in campaigns, where comments are used as a metric to evaluate the success of content campaigns.
At times, you may need to moderate your or other users' comments in the digital workplace. You can always delete your own comments. However, as a workplace administrator, you can delete all comments in the digital workplace, and as a site administrator, you can delete comments from content in your assigned site(s). Keep in mind that:
- Deleted comments: Once a comment has been deleted, the text will change to "This comment has been deleted," but it will not remove any threaded comments below it.
- Restoring comments: Deleted comments cannot be restored. However, content with comments sent to the Trash Bin can be restored along with the comments associated with the content.
