Create articles
As a workplace administrator, site administrator, or creator, you can create an article from an article feed or the Top Bar's Create button. For instructions on creating or editing an article, see Create or edit an article. When creating articles, keep in mind that:
- Featured image: You can add your own featured image to an article, or when turned on in the digital workplace, you can use AI to generate a featured image. See Configure AI-powered features. This image is displayed at the top of the article's body, in article feeds, and widgets. To prevent the featured image from being displayed in the article's body, see Hide or display a featured image in content.
- Embed files: Files that can be previewed can be embedded directly into an article. Users must be signed in to the digital workplace and have appropriate access permissions to view the embedded file. See Embed a file into content.
- Broadcasts: A broadcast notification can be sent instantly when the article has been published to users with access to selected feed(s) or group(s) if their or the digital workplace's notification settings are configured to be sent. See Configure workplace notification settings or Configure personal notification settings. If a user has access to multiple feeds or groups or is currently following the feed, they will only receive a single broadcast instead of multiple notifications.
- Content versioning: Editing an article creates a new content version. You can always restore one of the older versions to roll back changes to the article. See Restore to a previous version of content.
- File attachments: Up to 20 file attachments can be added to an article, allowing users to preview or download the files connected to the article. See Add file attachments to content or Delete file attachments from content.
As part of article creation and management, a notification will be sent to a user for the following reasons:
- An article is added to a feed that a user follows.
- An article is being edited.
- A broadcast of the article is created.
Before publishing the article, if you are not sending a broadcast, you can deselect Send notifications to followers to prevent notifications from being sent to users.
Delete articles
As a workplace administrator, site administrator, or creator, you can delete an article from the digital workplace. See Delete an article. Once deleted, an article goes into the Trash Bin, where it can be restored or permanently deleted by workplace administrators.
Articles in search
Articles will appear in search results. As a workplace administrator, you can highlight an article by adding a recommended result. The article will appear at the top of the search results list based on keywords or phrases searched, with a Recommended label in the platform and mobile app search. See Add or edit a recommended result.
