Follow

You can follow a feed to receive updates by email, in-app, or mobile push notifications when new content is added to a feed. You can follow these types of feeds:

To manage the feeds you are following:

  1. On the Top Bar, select Profile Menu.
  2. Select Personal Dashboard, followed by My Feeds.

Or, append /personal-dashboard?tab=feedsto the root URL of your digital workplace.

Follow feeds

You can follow any feed to which you have at least reader access permissions to view. See Follow a feed. Once you have followed a feed, you can always locate it to unfollow any feeds you have personally followed by viewing the My Feeds tab in your Personal Dashboard or navigating to the feed itself. See Unfollow a feed. Keep in mind that: 

  • Workplace default subscriptions: Workplace administrators can configure workplace default subscriptions to have you follow mandatory feeds in the digital workplace automatically. These feeds cannot be unfollowed and are identified by the label "Workplace default subscription."
  • Notifications: When new content is added to a followed feed, you will receive a notification if your or the digital workplace's notification settings have a notification channel turned on. See Configure personal notification settings or Configure workplace notification settings. If the content is broadcast on a followed feed, you will only receive a single broadcast to prevent you from receiving multiple notifications.
  • Calendar feeds: For followed calendar feeds, you can also view your Personal Calendar to see events in those feeds. See Use your Personal Calendar.

Configure workplace default subscriptions

As a workplace administrator, you can configure workplace default subscriptions to automatically have user groups follow mandatory feeds in the digital workplace. Calendar feeds cannot be used for workplace default subscriptions. See Add or edit workplace default subscriptions.

Users cannot unfollow the feed, but you can remove workplace default subscriptions. When a user is personally following the feed and also has a workplace default subscription removed, they will still receive notifications because they are personally following the feed.
